Popping Balls

Popping balls (popping boba), are thin gel spheres filled with fruit juice. When bitten, they “pop” in your mouth, releasing their flavour.

We have many different flavours imported from Taiwan and produced by ourselves in the UK. Have a browse through.

But that is not all. Popping balls add flavour to drinks and desserts. From fruity bubble teas to cocktails and puddings, they give you lots of ways to be creative.

What is Popping Boba?

Popping bobas are small round balls filled with juice or flavour. They are added to bubble tea to give a fun pop when you bite them. This is what makes them different from traditional tapioca pearls. Tapioca pearls stay chewy and release flavour slowly.

How are they made?

Boba balls are made from Sodium Alginate and either Calcium Chloride or Calcium Lactate. Producers form them using a process called spherification, which turns the mixture into a round ball. The result is a small sphere of juice with a thin jelly shell. The shell keeps the flavour inside until you eat it.

How do they pop with flavour?

Popping balls pop in your mouth when bitten. Each one adds concentrated flavour, similar to fruit juice. We have lots of flavours like passion fruit, mango, lychee, strawberry and peach, and many more.

Blueberry Popping Boba

Juicy and aromatic, blueberry mirrors the taste of summer in the UK. It works perfectly in fruity bubble teas and adds an intriguing contrast to traditional milky teas. Blueberry popping bobas are easy to love. They literally look like blueberries.

Pineapple popping boba

Pineapple brings a tropical feel to bubble tea. It creates a taste sensation for adventurous fruity boba lovers. Imagine adding this to a passion fruit tea with fresh mint and lemon slices. What's not to love?

Popping balls allow mixing and matching. Each ball bursts with flavour, so a single bubble tea can feature two or even three additional flavours. Contact us today for all your popping boba needs.
